brokerage survey... my broker is actually Canadian called Investorline and their server was completely down all day on Wednesday, April 14th. I've never seen that happen when it was down all day.

On the site it said to do telephone trading (touch phone) instead but you had to wait at least half an hour to get somebody on the phone if you didn't want to do the touch tone thing.

I just gave up.

Brokerage survey

I lost $25,000 today because I couldn't place a sell order with my broker (Citibank). I tried to place the order on line but the site locked up or gave a message that "I can't do that" I called the broker on a land line, actually two phones and let them ring on speaker phone. It took over 45 minuets for me to get to a broker and by that time the stock price fell from my original stop limit order of $15 to $9.45. I placed a sell order and got out at $10. This wouldn't be so bad if it was a few shares but I had 5,000 shares.

I am changing my broker to Webstreet. My son uses them and get fast accurate execution all day today. They even picked up the phone in a few minutes. Webstreet could of saved me thousands.

Brokerage Survey! Conspiracey is more like it! Waterhose down, Mytrac down, fastquote down, free realtime iffy. I was wondering if it wasn't a NASDAQ problem. I froze up at 9:41 on mytrac & then started checking around and everything was slow or down. For the 4th largest trading day in history it sure shows how difficult it can be to exit or enter positions. Watched MMPT hit bottom at $32 and couldn't buy it, watched it all the way to $38 before I was able to get back in to waterhose. The good side, NDB was working OK through all the trauma, and I watched NDB execute a trade later in the day almost instantly. I was shocked, maybe their new servers are working better. Too bad all my cash was in waterhose I couldn't buy MMPT. Personally I'm looking to dump waterhose!

Rande,

no problems with Datek on Wednesday. I wish I could say otherwise, probably would have saved some money since I tried to play the bounce on a few that never bounced that day.

Brokerage survey: E-trade down for 3 hours. Locked out and phone line was busy. I am used to it. Just received my papers for class action against E-trade. Happens much.
