Everyone...As for the less than expected recent production level of K6, it is entirely possible, and likely that the lower production level is due to AMD reassigning substantial production capability for establishing a sizeable inventory of K7 prior to the introduction. In this way they will be well positioned to flood the market with the much better performing, much higher margin product. This could very well be the power play AMD needs to grab additional, substantial market share from Intel. Also, Intel will not be able to counter until some time next year with 64-bit Merced, but this is also dependant on the fact that they have an agreement with Microsoft for a 64-bit version of Windows 2000. Not to mention that 64-bit technology will be insignificant for the main stream market for at least another 6 months to a year after that...until they actually start to have a decent amount of 64-bit software available.

Just my two cents....
