I'd like to add that people who feel safe with their partners can find it exciting to experiment in all kinds of ways. There is also an interesting psychological element: People who have to be in control at work or elsewhere can find it relief now and then to surrender altogether to a lover and enjoy being dominated sexually.

As I told E. last night, I thought of dominion as being more global than merely sexual. But, maybe I missed the point. Domina was what I was thinking of, that women want the goodies that come from being a lady. Even better, the goodies that come from being the right man's wife. Remember, this took place in Medieval France, and remember the privations of the girls who became governesses rather than wives, and the younger sons who became priests because there was nothing left for them. But maybe I allowed history to confuse a good story. You guys all are on one wavelength, and I am off on a frolic of my own.
