Bluejay: from another whiner about CHB.

The CHB , like other Canadian Gov't Institutions has indeed had cutbacks recently and is (relative to the USFDA) underfunded. That said-- IMO, they have a misdirected sense of priorities when it comes to factoring in other issues like "made in Canada and job/GDP" after their prime obligation is met-- ie the priortization based health care benifits.

If these other issues are not considered then we might has well have just one big UN focused health protection group in this world of ours. More and more the CHB seems to be saying to itself-- well if Company "X" has applied to the FDA or a UK equivalent--then lets redeploy our limited resources to rubber stamping others work AND to a few higher profile and percieved to be higher priority Canadian origin drugs.

That ,Bluejay, is a self fulfiling sprial downwards. Drug companies see the trend, go more and more to the US FDA and elsewhere. The big rubber stamp in the Ottawa sky then gets bigger etc.. as the stomach turns.

If you care to read back in some of the stuff Peter is quoted on, you will find sizeable test numbers through many GP volonteer doctor/patient trials.
