JL and all,

Brad and all,

IDX/ANADAC is mentioned in The 50 States | GCN State & Local April 1999 edition. While the contract is old news, it is nice to see Identix and FACIAL RECOGNITION SYSTEM in a current news release...

MARYLAND

FACING UP. The Public Safety and Correctional Services Department is using the DCTrack facial recognition system to capture images of crime-related data such as mug shots, bodily marks, composite sketches, and crime scene and surveillance photos.

The system, developed by Identix Inc. of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Anadac Inc. of Arlington, Va., runs under NT 4.0. It files images with data in the state's fingerprint identification system, Anadac law enforcement director Erin Phelps said.

JL,

David knows better than that......He is very high up in the Commission....although he too, has yet to pay his dues. In fact, in light of the number of dues paying members, the Commission would appear to have a membership of zero. Can't be too premature....I'm sure they will roll in next week. Anyhow, I think David knows why IDX is moving like this....as do many others.

I also believe that market forces are helping IDX.....When money looks for rapid growth in emerging technology....biometrics gets mentioned.....and IDX is really the only logical play.

We will need to check the next institutional holdings report.......I doubt the shorts have been smart enough to cover yet.....I think it will take a bigger breakout.......moving through $10 perhaps.

Runs like this do tend to bring out the bitter in some folks. The Commission was saying to load the boat under $6.00.....and those who did not, but wish they had, would like to see a backup. Hockeyfan is a good example. Poor guy, he feels his boat is not fully loaded....and he looses his "Yo Rapper" trading card offer in one week.

Don't be surprised if we begin hearing of a restructuring of IDX after the IDT vote.......moving IDX out of law enforcement/government services and refocusing on Bio-ID.....I think the time has almost come.......Steve mentions that IDX has been working with a facial recognition company....Hmmmm.

I think either IDX does it....or someone else will come along and do it for them....if you know what I mean.

Check out a few posts going back several months on Yahoo....posted under the handle "Meredith". Interesting speculation.....and easy to see the logic.

J.L., re: "When did you change your mind about institutional interest?"

I got some information recently that the move from $5.50 to $7 on March 30 -- the one that cost me some shares as I had to buy in at $6.25 as the stock ran away less than an hour before I showed up -- was an institutional buy. And since then, I have recognized the buying patterns of institutional buyers twice during the past week.

So my mind changed recently, based on very recent developments. But I think this buying is not end-of-quarter, but pre-merger and the subsequent announcements. Otherwise, it would not have continued into the past few days.

I think we could see some more buying ahead by institutional longs. As to shorts, they could start to cover, but then they could go short again since this run will end. Remember, it started at $5.
