Friday afternoon Bar-B-Que Nancy and Darrell Smith of Hot Springs, Arkansas, two of the originators of this event, have suggested that they cater a Bar-B-Que on Friday afternoon at an as-yet-to-be-determined location. (Until her retirement this Spring, Nancy was Hot Springs' premier caterer!) I envision this as a VERY informal and relatively unstructured picnic (come when you want, leave when you want) with a chance to swim, relax, socialize, network, and so forth. Possible schedule: 1:00 - 3:30 Swimming, beer and soft drinks, chilled watermelon 3:30 - 5:30 Food served (Bar-B-Que, slaw, beans, etc) We would need to wrap up by 6:15 or so in order for those planning on attending Esther's to get ready. Others could continue in picnic mode or make other plans. Nancy has offered to do this at cost, using McClard's bar-b-que, featured in Southern Living, from another Arkansas DELL Head, Joe McClard who will be unable to attend.
