It wasn't my intention to directly answer your question, i picked you somewhat at random to express that thought about the cells burning raw natgas. Everything I know about gle comes from this thread, their releases, and from their website - globalte.com

I have no idea who you are. But, I took the time to Private Message you and told you that I had talked to Mr. Jim Lumsden and he informed me of the 100% increase, which by the way is in all the papers, and the "half the size". If you want to get proof. Phone the Company. Do your own DD. All this information is "new" some of it released publicly others being found out from the company, by some of us who took the time and called.

Kevin Hamlin is correct in his assessment of 1/2 the size, and twice the power.

power density on the earlier cell was approx. 1/2 watt/sq. cm. cell membrane. Cell size tested was about 4" square (1 layer): therefore approximate cell are = 103sq cm x .5 watt=51.5 watts x2 (factor for percentage power increase = 103 watts/layer x1.15 (factor for retesting of advanced cell = 118 watts. Now assume each layer of the cell is 3/8" thick then we say a cell with 10 layers makes 1.18kw of electricity. If the assumption for cell thickness is correct and our extrpolation of past results is close then a 50kw cell (equal to Ballards latest would be 50kw/1.18kw=42.3 so say 43 layer thick x 3/8" = a cell size of 4"x4"x16" long. This does not include the cell casing etc. It is also a rough figure extrapolated from currently available information. GLE apparently will be putting a FAQ section on their site however which will more accurately answer your question.
Additionally I have requested power generation capability in watts and the voltage. Watts is meaning less to SOME extent if one does not know what voltage something produces. Hope this helps for now.
