Milosovic is not Hitler in terms of invading other countries. The conflicts are contained within the borders of Yugoslavia. Kosovo is not an independent country. From what I understand, NATO has walked in on a middle chapter of a much larger book. As will all books, it's a collection of stories. At least since the Ottoman Turks conquered the area in the middle ages. Apparently the Serbs are trying to take back the area, which Tito purposely moved in a number of ethnic Albanians when Yugoslavia was under Communistic rule. Kovoso is also a center Serbian religious history. Serbs are orthodox Christians. Many Albanians are Muslums. I guess you can see where the tension comes from. I understand that the Serbs themselves were victims of Albanian agression at one time and the KLA (Kosovo Liberation Army} is deeply involved in drug trafficing. So, contrary to what you are being fed by CNN and the Clinton administration, there may not be any Saints here. Personally, I think peaceful negociation would have been the best choice here. Nothing worse than stepping into the middle of a religious/ethnic/territorial conflict. I thought we had learned that. The ultimatum was given to Milosovic, let 28k peacekeepers into Kosovo or NATO will bomb you. He had no choice than to say. "OK", "bomb us". It appears that Clinton has gotten bad advice on this one. What has the bombing done? How has it helped the Albanians? It's only made things worse. Clinton has been spinning the people to gain approval for his war. "we will not send in ground troups". So the bombing continues, a few more bridges fall into the Danube and the velocity of refugees continues to escalate. After scorching the earth, we expect the Albanians to go back to Kosovo and everyone live happily ever afer. Who is going to keep the peace and at what expense...and the big question for how long? These people have been waring on and off for 600 years. Jim
