Chris, Thanks for the comments. I am finding it very hard to believe that Barrick hasn't yet re-entered the situation. The play seems much better than when Barrick offered its low-ball bid months ago. I can't see them being a minority holder of the play, it just doesn't seem to be their style to have other companies run the show. Also, Pascua seems to add to their incentive to control ARP. One has to wonder how much ARP would be worth in a more vibrant gold market. My guess is substantially more than Homestake's bid now. Like you say, the timing seems very unfortunate. DB
