Believe me, I am no fan of Clinton,in fact I posted here on the eve
of his impeachment vote that the US, the leader of the free world, deserved a much better leader, and hoped for his impeachment.
What I was implying in my post was that I believe that without NATO,
Albania then Turkey would be drawn into a war with Yugoslavia. If Turkey got involved than Greece (it's enemy) would jump in.I think at that point the rest of the countries in the region would soon be sucked in because of treaties or long simmering ethnic hatreds.
My opinion is that the US and Nato got involved so that others in the region would not have to, so as to stop a much larger war.Whether they
are doing it the right way, or if it will work is another matter.I believe the US is at least trying to do the right thing. What I find amazing is that Milosevic has for about 10 years waged war on his own citizens, brought a once great country to this situation yet has his people loving him.I guess the old saying BLOOD IS THICKER THAN WATER
might apply in this case. Clinton may not deserve the respect of his citizens, however, in my opinion the values and attempt to do the right thing that America has shown time and time again does deserve
the respect of its citizens and peoples around the world. DAVE T.
