>>Make sure your limit is set at $18.00 when your stop is at $19.50.......to tight a limit and you could screw yourself out of some good paper!! <<

So what you are saying here is the limit of say $18.00 means if your stop gets hit at $19.50 but the stock moves too fast downward so that you don't get a fill before it is below $18.00 your stock will not sell unless it trades back up to the $18.00 range. Is this correct?

Chief,
"Dumb" question on your "dumb" opinion:-)
How do you change your stops fast enough assuming a fast market, consequently 10-15 min. to get your orders changed either by phone or through an e-trading system?

That must work great with cable modem or adsl

With a 56k modem by the time the order is waiting, locked, reviewed, retrieved, opened - your order might have been filled or you might miss the order altogether ..

OF course, said from experience....

but, I agree completely about using stop limits 100% ... i just have to practice my execution better.

Stop Loss Question + NGQ breakout ?

Hi the Chief !

I see that you are from Ottawa and so am I. I trade with E*Trade and have asked them about availability of stop loss. They never did answer. Do you know if this is available with them when you trade on line ?

NGQ.V Do you see a brake out from the flag that seems to develop ? If it does ... could really fly ?

Any thought would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John
