A few questions for the regulars:

1. Is a wave account typically "loaded" with value for future purchases by putting a charge against a traditional credit card?

2. Will an online merchant accepting a credit from a wave account as payment, do so without incurring any processing charges or fees?

3. If there are fees to the merchant for taking a wave payment, how are they typically structured? Flat fee per transaction or percent of the charge?

What I am trying to get to is a better understanding of how eager online merchants will be to push volume away from credit cards and over to wave accounts.

The merchant interchange charges can run 2-5% on credit cards purchases. If merchants can shave a few points off each sale by pushing wave accounts, you can bet they will do so.

Thanks for any feedback.

Brian

The Silence Is Deafening...

I s'pose we're all just digesting the Sarnoff news.

Wild-ass opinion follows:

** Today is wonderful CONDUIT news. Endorsed by none other than Sarnoff.
** CONTENT news has to--and certainly will--follow. Timing is anybody's guess.
** We have some significant content partners, but it's a pretty safe bet that this new, revolutionary (safe, convenient) conduit will attract even bigger names. (I'm trying to sort out the WAVO connection in this regard--'cause they've got a lot of wonderful content partners.)
** I think this, in part, explains some of the WAVX staffing up... and the kinds of folks they've been looking for.

JMHO,
