I bought options purely as speculation on future moves of stocks. Also traded the OEX. BUT be careful, no be VERY careful when trading options. They are a wasting asset. At expiration (third Friday of the month) their value can be zero. The longer out you go from expiration, the higher the premium....tough way to make $$ (I'm still looking for an easy one).
The best way to use options is to own the underlying stock and sell covered calls. I would suggest you do a lot of reading b-4 getting into the options world. Sure you can buy a hundred lot for a 1/16 and it can go to a buck....but don't count on it. Also check with your broker, just because you can trade stocks doesn't mean you are set up to trade options.
Regards,
Stu
