I never intended to advertise on SI, but don't like to see anybody pay more than they have to either.. You can get a much lower mortgage rate my friend- try atlascapcorp.com

Next thought- do you really want your house paid off? One of the few remaining tax deductions the average person has is the mortgage interest deduction. If you pay your home off completely not only do you lose this valued deduction but think of the opportunity cost! I would think that you could gather a larger return than your mortgage rate through your investments. Where would you rather the money be?
