Oh... one more thing... See Morgan Stanley analyst Mary Meeker comments on internet stocks... She talks of the "aggregate market value of the internet sector will be alot higher in 3 years than it is today" while only handfuls of companies will succeed... Says there will be "super companies" made up of AOL, Amazon, Yahoo, Ebay, and Athome..... HMMMMM.... These stocks are the ones with 1. DEEP POCKETS and 2. PROFITS (aol, yhoo, ebay ) and 3. CABLE ( Athome) I wonder if GO2NET will show up on the radar of analysts screens soon??!! Well, they do have 1. DEEP POCKETS 2. PROFITS and 3. CABLE!! REMEMBER... 3 analysts are covering GNET... The other stocks named above have anywhere from 12-32 covering them!! WILL THIS CHANGE SOON??? All JMHO!

Sure a portal is just one breed of site, and GNET executes this better than most. Its better than Microsoft's attempt at a portal because it has both personality and technology. Microsoft's has been criticised for being too bland, corporate, generic, and lacking personality. It also lacks completeness, so eventually you must use another site to find things you know are there!. The genius of Metacrawler is the technology that sums the knowledge of all the search engines, so if its out there then Metacrawler will find it. There's no need to look for another search engine! The personality of the site will only be enhanced by 'rich' multimedia as the site evolves. It helps that the stories on the homepage always reflect the current agenda of the specific area of news, sports, business, entertainment. Whatever, users love it! Playsite is the right approach for online gaming, as the most popular internet gaming at the moment is in the more abstract games that playsite supports. Hypermart has the traffic, so who can argue with the numbers.
