Here are the details: THOMCAST Communications and DiviCom Announce Strategic Partnership; Alliance Delivers One-Two Digital Television Punch April 19, 1999 08:59 AM SOUTHWICK, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 19, 1999--THOMCAST Communications, Inc., prominent supplier of high power analog and digital UHF and VHF television transmitters and wireless communications, and DiviCom, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of C-Cube Microsystems CUBE and the leading provider of open solutions for digital television, today announced a major cooperative sales alliance targeted to North American broadcasters.
The sales alliance agreement between THOMCAST Communications and DiviCom provides that the Comark Division CDS Unit will be the primary distributor and integrator of DiviCom ATSC products to the broadcast market. The agreement also specifies that DiviCom will be the primary provider of MPEG-2 compression systems to CDS. CDS specializes in consulting, project management, systems design integration, and DTV products. CDS offers complete systems including DiviCom products bundled with its own THOMCAST "Pearl" PSIP Manager, "Sapphire" Stream Server, and "Opal" Data Broadcasting products. CDS will also sell these solutions to the MMDS market through the THOMCAST Communications Comwave Division.
