>>alot of daytraders will find themselves long Alcoa or I-Paper<<

Some smart ones were short Net stocks this morning.

>> Dow has dropped 150 points in the last hour<<

If the DOW can't close at or near its high, we may see further correction for the market as a whole.

>>My guess is alot of daytraders will find themselves long Alcoa or I-Paper when the Internet stocks bottom<<
William, I don't think todays daytraders would be trading Alcoa.
Do you think that they could watch a stock go up or down 1 point per day?
No they like stocks like Amzn up or down 20 points all in one trading day.
Ps
You only know me because of this thread. I'm really so conservative I would bore you to death.:-))

RE: I've used the sell-off as a chance to add to the leaders at the expense of some marginal stocks

You have a good sense of what stocks to pick, but I question your timing.

>>My guess is alot of daytraders will find themselves long Alcoa or I-Paper when the Internet stocks bottom. This correction in the Web issues is totally normal so far.<<

Some may even find themselves long on dogs like Ford and General Motors (read - Real companies) that sell for less than 10x earnings - even though I know that is terribly unfashionable these days.
