It never mentioned the backside.

vic-- thanks that wasthe most uplifting thing all day after the initial tiny pop this morning--- you said " he can go ahead with AV" Yes he can but how much do you think it is worth now compared to a week ago. AOL WAS 178,, now around 115, PRGY WAS around 40 now 29 and the list goes on as the sector goes down.. just looks a bit late to get near the $10Bil that was mentioned earlier today...

If they don't get off their butts on this AV deal, it'll end up being a non-event. How idiotic it was to suggest that they woud spin it off and then never mention it again. i guess that was all part of the scheme to drive the shares up so EM could get out. el

I have been watching this stock for a while and have taken a small position in it recently on the earnings debacle day. Then....it moved still lower and lower to a new 52 week low.

I am not so sure that it will reach anywhere near 50 by christmas. Y2K is still waiting upon us. Many companies have stopped spending on new projects (translates to stopped buying new equipment), which means that the next quarter may be even weaker. If that happens I think CPQ will sink to the mid-teens. The massive sell off by the insiders is not helping either. Probably they know more about the Y2K effects on CPQ than we do, otherwise why would they sell at such rock bottom prices ? May be because they expect the price to still go down in the future ?

I hope my analysis may be flawed, but where ? Any thoughts ? How do you think a Y2K christmas will affect CPQ ?

Regards,
Vaibhav

victor... you know that I have the greatest respect for you and that I enjoy every single one of your posts, but $55 by Christmas??????? I have to say that I don't even have dreams that wild. 39-40 is, imho, tops and I'm beginning to rethink that(lower). El
