A specialist can only manipulate the price DOWN or UP in a vacuum. When there is MASSIVE VOLUME the Market takes the price where it's going to go.

That does not mean the Specialist gets burned, no way! The principles Ney spells out can take place in a few MINUTES.

i.e. IBM is ready to rocket, buy orders are flowing in. The Specialist creates a vacuum by holding up the orders, drops the price, takes in all the stop loss orders, and then within a minute the stock rockets higher as the buy orders are filled.
