Steve, you can do a lot to boost the thread by providing the information. Tero's posts are highly literate [for a 'columnist'], enjoyable and do contain some information. But they also contain a lot of opinion, which looks very good, but ends up wrong or it is inconsistent with other things. I like to point out those inconsistencies because they can fall out of view if ignored.

For example the chip rate. Let's watch that space closely. It is very important. It would be interesting to see whether he still thinks Ericy, Nokia and co will proceed as always insisted with the 4.0xx rate or cave in to efficiency and go with the cdmaOne rate.

The high quality of Tero's writing can lead people to think that what he says is necessarily true.

Maurice

[Not meaning to lecture, but it is easy to sit back and demand good quality information provided for no charge. Getting in the fray and generating ideas, information and so on takes some effort but is rewarded many times over by people being prompted to add to the value.]

Steve,

Sorry you feel so. I am sure Nokia's share price soaring would provide some soothing effect to you. However, to provide factual information on Nokia and low-balling other companies at the same time using distorted views are not anybody style of high quality writing. Do you not agree?

Did you think he would take any responsibility of his writing about QCOM's "no sale growth and low profit margin" comments two days ago?

Are you providing some argument points here or not? Or you are one more critics emerging from somewhere. You do not come here to tell me "just arguing for the sake of arguing. Tero's posts provided some information. The other just seem to be critiques on critiques"

Best,

Brian H.

Steve,

Please excuse the folks from the Qualcomm thread venturing over here to confront Tero. Tero has provided continued critique of Qualcomm for several years, but when his assertions are proven false he is nowhere to be found. A case in point is Tero's claim that Ericy had been developing WCDMA for the last 10 years and Qualcomm's IPR was not essential to WCDMA. Now it is obvious that Ericy had little to no essential IPR for any CDMA and will be paying royalties to the Q. I believe what most of us want, that have read and appreciated Tero's posts, is for him to admit that he was sucked in by Ericy's bullshit or was part of it!!!
