I agree that the tech wreck is just warming up, but soft may give a short hiatus here depending on how the street takes the revnue number and I don't have a clue how the street will react -- if I had to guess, I'd guess up just because that has been right more often that not ...

RE: "lockdown"---remember Windows2000 is going to be released by the second half of the year. Part of the solution to Y2K may be Windows2000. CFO Maffei just wants to be a bit cautious---just like he does every quarter. If he does not predict doom and gloom for the remainder of the year, that usually means things are pretty at Microsoft. You just have to learn to read into what he says. I am waiting for the conference call.

Microsoft revenues and earnings will explode when Office 2000 and Windows 2000 ships.

Imagine what the sales and earnings would be without the Y2K issue.
