He may not intend to buy out the company, but he sure as heck is not going to let it go under. For pride reasons alone, this will have to be a winner.

They will probably team with a partner soon. My take is that there is a problem with the price that Vulcan is asking. They probably want 20+ and acquirer/ partner is finding that too steep.

It will be a game of cards and if the NY roll out is successfully received, 20+ may be in the cards.

If all else fails, Allen will take a lower bid OR he will buy out the company, put it in his pocket for a few years and cash out a winner. Doesn't matter if this ultimately happens, key is what he thinks. That's why this stock is a no lose situation. He can afford to buy it tomorrow. May even set up a charitable foundation for a university to team with, getting a tax deduction and still keeping his pride.

So long as shareholders get out at a decent price, nobody will complain.
