Darren - Re: " "Our ramp up time to the 0.18 micron process technology has been nothing short of phenomenal, " said Kevin McDonough, co-general manager of Cyrix and senior vice president of National Semiconductor...This seemed like good news at the time so why no news since then?"

Clearly, the new product designs DID NOT WORK.

From october 1998 to April 1999 with no new products, there can be no other conclusion - assuming of course that the process works.

Re: ""Cyrix's next generation processor, expected to debut in the fourth (!!!) quarter of 1999 in the 600 - 800MHz speed range."...Remember folks, the fourth quarter is only a month away."

If you believe Cyrix is going to introduce a 600 MHz CPU in the next month, you are fooling yourself.

At best, they will introduce a new CPU code name. That's one thing they seem to be pretty good at.

Darren,

Re: Phenomenal ramp up of 0.18 micron technology since 10/98.

Gee Darren, the ramp up has been so phenomenal that we may have missed the parts altogether.

Or do you think all those 0.18 parts are being aged someplace for some special purpose.

Regards,

Kash Johal.
