Probably investment profits should be considered an integral part of MSFT's business. Microsoft (and Intel) are really in unique positions to spot tech trends early, and they have excess cash flows from their businesses to fund theses transactions. I'm sure they will do better with the money than if they returned it to shareholders by dividends so we could invest the money ourselves.
I am disappointed with revenue growth, but this quarter is not a typical one, and the spread of low cost computers is bound to help MSFT and INTC. I just bought a new one that I really didn't need, mainly because it was so cheap.

Andy,

Just happened to notice that you haven't posted on MSFT board before this afternoon.

I have been doing this for a long time and it looks like you are a desperate short.

No offense but it is a classic.
