I can't help but disconnect Kosovo and Clinton in my mind. Chris repeats the mantra, "we can't be the world's policeman." I understand his point, but I wonder why not? He says, why didn't we intervene at Tianamen Square? I say, maybe we should have. He says, what about all the people who got killed in Ruwanda, why didn't we do anything there? I say, maybe we should have. He says, why now? I say, maybe because we can? But I think the armies should be volunteers, not conscripts. Like cops. Why not? I really wouldn't have minded my tax money going to save the people in Tianamen Square.
