You are forgetting that with upcoming advances in space travel the market will soon be infinitely large. If Intel can sell an infinite number of CPUs they will make a good buck. As soon as FedEx starts shipping throughout the universe Amazon should also have an infinite market to go with their already infinite PE ratio.

Care to explain how Intel's revenues aren't going to fall through the floor when the
entire machine costs less than their current profit margin on ONE COMPONENT, the
cpu?

KIS,

You're so negative. Let's start with the fact that everyone is not buying $300 boxes. I do not nor will ever buy the low end box. I am not sure what box you use but I enjoy Real Audio/Video. IPX, various sites with highend java scripts. I also do a lot with large graphics. We also need and use a server.

In addition, what do you think will power all the servers that are providing interactive content on the web? A $200 computer?

The fact that "Now HP is predicting the price for a home
computer is going to drop below 200 bucks." does not limit one to buying it.

As William would say, come in out of the cold.

Glenn
