04/20 16:16 INTERVIEW-E*Trade sees more losses on ad spending

By Jack Reerink

NEW YORK, April 20 (Reuters) - E*Trade Group Inc., will post losses the rest of the year because the No. 3 Internet brokerage will keep spending advertising dollars to sign up more customers, President Kathy Levinson said on Tuesday.

"The operating losses are going to very similar to what we had in the first couple of quarters," Levinson told Reuters in a telephone interview. "As long as we're seeing our marketing as successful as they have been, we're going to continue to spend to get market share now, because we think share is going to be more expensive later."
