What is it about the way the war is being fought that causes you to say that?

Re: pure ideology. I need to read up on Isaiah Berlin. He seems like he was a very intelligent man, a moral philosopher. Recently read a review of his work. As I understand it, no two human constructs of "the good" are 100% compatible, and the adjustment between them requires compromise. At the time, I was thinking of the adjustment between the desire for perfect love between a man and a woman, and the need to preserve an intact family for the good of the children. There are certainly times when these two "goods" are incompatible, and one or the other must be compromised. As a for instance. There are trade-offs between being a good employee and being a good parent. You can't expect to be perfect at everything.

I have a "simple" solution to the Kosovo crisis - redraw the borders of the nations to reflect the ethnic realities of the population. What is drawn there now was done in the 20th century, and not by the people who live there. I suppose you could say that such "simple" solutions haven't "solved" anything in Northern Ireland, nor in Israel, but I think that defusing the touch-points is preferable to standing back and watching the slaughter of innocents.
