Dr. Seuss, I think I agree with the opinion, what he is saying is that on average, stocks are going up and a random sample will rise with the market. But you can not short stocks on average, you have to know which ones to short and have more information. A random sample for Shorting would not work and likely lose money in this market.

20/20 did an story on a Monkey that was beating a fund manager in a contest, it has been going on for the last 3 years with and update each year.

I may be wrong but somehow I think you two agree. I may be wrong
