Harold: I don't understand your rationale. Do you expect stock appreciation because of a management reshuffle or an acquisition?

Harold, 3Com is actually #3, Bay is #2 and it's gone to Nortel, a Canadian company so I don't understand your rationale of protectionism. What $$$ implications are you referring to ?

cheers,

tt

Kirby-Your theory is correct,Am.co.will buy 3COM. Look @ATT w/58B 4 Mediaone. It won't be AT&T for sure. Lucent has the money and buying everything in sight. My opinion, 3COM could fit in the company's plans to grow at 20% per year. (CNBC gave a good piece on Lucent & future growth). From 1995 from being negative to 1998 almost a billion in revenues. According to a Lucent VP, they expect to continue to grow to become a 50 to 60bil revenue company. (sorry, missed the growth time period, but that's growth). Now, if that is the case, Lucent better start buying more companies which are making money NOW with low p/e's like 3COM. Again, this is my opinion. There could be some synergies between Lucent & 3COM.

Did you know that Ericson was talking w/3Com about three weeks ago?
