The announcement was made Monday.

Earnings were last week. So, today is the first buyback day. The Phoenix buyback is analogous to the 1999 Creative purchases, which didn't prop up the stock as much as the 1998 purchases. How much stock did Creative retire in 1998?

The ignorance of some of the postings here never ceases to amaze me. They cannot buy back stock for two full business days after the announcement of the buy back, not the earnings. That's the law.

Also, once they start buying back, we investors want it to go slowly. If they did buy too fast, the uptick in stock price by upsetting the supply demand balance, would be a temporary uptick. The price would then settle down as there would be no buyers at all. Furthermore, it would waste cash. We complain they have $80M and are not buying back shares. How would we feel if they ran the price up artificially, spent too much cash and had the price retreat anyway?

Look, I'm not a happy camper either. Anyone familiar with my postings knows I am in at $15. However, If you do not trust Kay, sell your stock and be done with it. I once made the mistake of lumping his name with Bob Angelo's and someone (I think J. Garfunkle) really called me on it. Upon reflection, he was right and I was wrong. Kay is good or bad, but he is honest.
