I have had similar experiences, Steven. But you forgot the academics. That is, the people who have the gall to pontificate on incidents they have never seen in countries where they have never been, and to spread misinformation under the guise of "learned commentary". No, we can never hope to know history as it actually was, although often we can weed out the obviously phony. Look at it this way. Pilate probably never posed the question attributed to him -"What is truth?" But it's a good question nevertheless. Joan
