Dale, I have no idea what in my post you found insulting. I am holding nothing but kind wishes for everyone trying to help, including you, if you are in that part of the world.

I simply restated some of the observations Anthony has been making from his firsthand observation of the situation there. He was disappointed that there was little evidence of US humanitarian efforts on the ground in Macedonia. He has remarked that the govt of Macedonia is not as helpful as it might be. He named one organization that he found doing particularly good work, and I rasied some $ today at work to be wired as soon as we can nail down the contact details. I'm sure there are other worthwhile orgs, but most of us are far away. If you can name highly worthwhile groups, maybe folks here can funnel support to them.

If you'd read my posts, you'd know that the situation makes me feel horrible and helpless -- its particularly surreal to watch the misery of the refugees on TV, then a quick cut to a dogfood commercial or sports hilight.

I'm terribly worried that the refugees are desperately imperiled, regardless of what political choices are made in the weeks ahead. The situation is obviously extremely serious, and won't end anytime soon. What else can I say?
