Back to this Proxy issue. The annual meeting is 3 weeks away. No Proxy. No annual letter.

I suppose it's safe to assume that Ampex is going to bypass the usual practice of announcing the results of the Proxy at the meeting. No way can they mail out the proxy, gather the votes and tabulate the results is the less than 3 weeks till the annual meeting.

Anyone else find this an unusual practice? Why the delay?

<<IATV, I think, is not exactly comparable to Ampex because it benefits significantly from the minority ownership of deep-pocketed Liberty Media, >>

Very true Gus....the two are not actually comparable in financial underpinnings or strategy...but if you will note......both AXC and IATV spiked to their short term highs on exactly the same day.. 4/13 ... and both pulled back off the spike on that same day to a comparable degree ... and have been trading since almost exactly in tandem ( within the parameters of the rough formula mentioned) day by day. Too big a coincidence, so that leads me to believe that somebody with enough money to move the market a bit is playing the group ( and including AXC in the group). For now anyway.I suspect a fund. How long that tandem phenomenon will last is anyone's guess. I see it as a sign AXC's strategy is catching some serious respect. So, for all the volatility .... in my opinion ....a bullish sign in that some large new radar screen has lit up.

Great to have you back, Gus. Sure hope you can visit more often.
Would intrude on your time again with an old topic. Partitioning. From Chris et al's report from the NAB.
"They have a big advantage in tape partitioning (which is beneficial for inserting segments into programming). Sony does not have this capability"

Isn't the Sony petasite( sp?) a 19mm helical scan format? For precise insert and erasure and speed, partitioning seems mighty valuable. Noticed the DST had a 50% greater throughput speed than the Sony. Continue to wonder whether AXC's partitioning technique can be transferred to other formats ...licensed to Sony etc. Still seems at least potentially very valuable to me.
