I disagree that the bears have exceeded prudence. Would you have thought SPX pe of 35 a year ago? even using 1/3 and 90/10 we've gotten killed.

AR,

>>People are making investments...correction...placing bets which exceed prudence, imo.<<

I recently joined an investment club with some life long friends as a way of us getting togther etc.. About 3/4 of the members have no investment experience. When we have meetings, I can't even get them to discuss price. Price is not an issue to them. They make contributions and immediately want to be 100% invested. It took arm twisting to convince them to keep 15% cash. When I say something like the PE is 75 and the balance sheet looks weak they look at me like I'm an idiot and vote me down and buy more. The mentality is so beyond belief and the arrogance that's associated with it can really rattle you. I've even seen the attitude spread beyond novices. One of my best friends, who also happens to be one of the brightest and experienced, has conceded he was wrong to be worried about the values and seems convinced that the loonies will keep driving it higher. When I point out that eventually..... he says we'll just have to be aware of that and stay fully invested in the mean time. Ughh!

I'm not asking for much, but a little prudence would help.
