Thanks Joe....Question: If you find such a virus/email, can you just delete it??? Or does the process of deleting, open it up to create damage??? In other words, what do you do if you find one????

New to computers,

Daisy

<Virus Hoaxes> The real viruses are these self-replicating email hoaxes. They are always worded the same way written by a non-technical person and not from any of the virus monitoring centers. "PASS THIS ON TO ANYONE YOU HAVE AN E-MAIL ADDRESS FOR. IT IS REAL AND NOT A JOKE." Almost guaranteed to be a joke. (No disrespect meant to you Joe, you intended to do the right thing).

Joe, Thanks for the good intentions on the warning of the virus which turned out to be a hoax. FWIW I found it interesting that within about 15 minutes multiple people on A@P's thread were confirming that it was a hoax, complete with links. By the time I heard back from our Security Dept. I was scooped. Have you received that kind of response from the other threads you post to? I have not seen anyone on your home thread respond or check it out. I guess my point is (what was my point?) that some of the best due dili and intelligence gathering on SI is happening here on A@P's thread where the motto could be "trust no one, verify everything, share what you have learned and lets all make money.
