Last year I converted my wife's 403b (like a 401k but for non-profit org's) to a rollover IRA. The 403b company wrote her a check in her name and the name of the IRA company (American Century). That way she wouldn't have to pay the 20% withholding or penalties (unless we took over 60 days, I think, to deposit the check into the Am Cent. IRA.
