You're right gun control is not violence control. Gun control is a simple minded quick fix like prohibition to stop drunk drivers. Why don't we just put Ritalin in the water!

We are supposed to have the right to bear arms, but we do actually only for part of the day. Do you think a thief would rather rob an armed on-duty police officer or snatch an unarmed woman's purse? I don't know this for a fact, but I would guess that the majority (or nearly all) of violent crimes with guns are committed against unarmed people.

Maybe we should be allowed to carry guns with us at all times, and at any age? Maybe we should ban guns? Maybe status quo is the best option? Other 1st world nations seem to be in favor of stricter gun control laws.
