FTC has already indicted the industry is embryonic and they would not step in to slow network formation at the present time. More likely, FTC would mandate open access rather than restricting network formation.

Now, now, RTev, are you over here trying to convince folks that an ATHM and RR merger would never receive FTC/FCC approval? I thought so.

Regulatory approval might actually be easier than any of us expect. I do not think the FTC/FCC would be a major roadblock in such a merger.

This deal will happen in one way shape or form. The forces of nature are too strong. A real wild card here will be MSFT, especially if Maffei leaves MSFT to head up RR.
