Keith,
I have post phoned buying TA software until I understand what I really need. Are you able to use end of day data for the patterns you talk about. And are you using SW intraday charts during the day.
This is what I assume, but I usually am wrong when I assume in a new area.

Keith:

I look at quote.yahoo.com chart and ~NOW~ I see what you were talking about that tuesday double bottom with t.gle

But, using RTQ along with the delayed charts isn't an accurate picture sometimes, so I neglect to look at the 3-5 day charts .. always look at the 1-year if available though..

Would today's gle curve appear to be like that "neckline" you were suggesting? Perhaps a 3-day extension of Tuesday's graph? If so, I would hazard a guess a dip towards about 8.25-8.50 as the low??

Anyway..

A catch-22 .. I can't afford to spend the money to GET information .. yet, everyday I seem to realize that it should be I cannot afford NOT to get the information... <this summer I am going LONG on the subscriptions and software!>

Just a comment about posting people's techniques in this thread

It is a great idea for "novice investors" such as myself and many others... especially when they come from investors such as yourself, and the many many others WE ALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE so I won't name names in case I forget you.. It is one thing to watch you guys (and gals) in action and learn a bit as we go along day in and day out, but now we can study you and understand WHY you are doing what you are doing .. it really does help and is appreciated.

.. but - would it be good reading if investors such as myself offer our techniques? yes, I do find a ~few~ myself...but Sometimes, the decision to buy or sell may not be so .... technical ... or timely

I like the idea about everybody posting what they are doing like The Chief intended for this thread - during the day, everyone work together and let people know what they are watching, how much they are in for, when they get out and for how much .. and so on and so on .. repeatedly throughout the day! Then, after hours explain the why's, the hows, the next day's outlook, socialize not demoralize ...

I just hope it doesn't seem like i'm trying to ride in anybody's "wake" though .. that is not my intention. I want to learn, I want to make money, I want to have fun, I want to make money - and I think it would just be pretty-gosh-darn-tootin' nice if we ALL make some profits together, and/or help minimize the losses together - based on working collectively to assess the information and the markets, to help make a logical decision - despite the size of one's portfolio

Hmm .. when have I heard ~THAT~ one before!

My two cents: I think someone on that bii thread whose nickname rhymes with Reagan oh so many weeks ago <that i don't bookmark anymore> had the right notion and in assessing his comments a lot of people started to -- well, ya know the story -- ... BUT YES even he said "buy on spec, sell on news "

... Nasdaq is coming - woohoo bii at $30 ...
... Nasdaq here .. Well, pre-bid was $8.00 this morning .. now what?
... Oh! Interactive video Auction Coming April 27th woohoo!! ... There should be some good opportunities for daytrading ..
... After April 28th .. then what? <me go long cheap>

The trend for t.gle on the past 2 major news and price hurdles paint a picture for me what to do ... I just hope I can do it better next time.

(disclaimer: All comments subject to a million possible variables)

Keith .. keep the comments and analysis coming! It's truly appreciated out here...

G'night all, or G'morning and good trading today!
HART

Some excellent information here Keith!!! Thanks for the link too. I hope to get into that site for a good read soon. I notice with interest yesterday the BII chart indicated a possible reversal from 8.50 but with weakness at the close. Here is my thoughts. It looks to me like the support at $11.00 may be tested today and if it holds we may see the beginning of a significant run on BII. Note the triple bottom at $11.00.
canada.bigcharts.com

I can't believe I am saying this given the stock was at 32.35 it's high only a few 15 days ago. I haven't been playing BII since I got stopped out at $4.60 a couple of months ago but I am thinking today we may see an excellent opportunity. Yesterday too was a great day for day traders on BII if you could see the bottom being tested. Looking at the three month chart I see an increase in volume around the $8.00 range. Have a look and tell me if you see the same thing. Using Yahoo here as bigcharts won't give the three month one to me.

quote.yahoo.com

As I read the charts I see medium support at $11.00 and strong support at the $8.50 If it breaks through the $8.50 I see major support at 6.10. I am not expecting the 6.10 or the 8.50 to be tested today but will watch on the side the first 15 to 30 minutes to see if the 11.00 gets broken. If not I plan to jump in close to the 11 as possible. On less of course it gaps up today which it might. What do you think? Ray

TA on GLE for this morning,if we look on the 5 days chart on CSW,we have a right-angle triangle, with strong support at 9.50,volume was declining yesterday except for the last 45 minutes,it picked up a little.Chart is calling for a sharp move downside if it breaks 9.50,but if we have a rally in volume it could break on the upside. But i hate that kind of triangle as most of the time it will break on the downside...But this is friday and good news could be coming.Good luck to all...
