The Street: Agreed. This is an amazing thread to read, and a real-time example of group psychology. "Facts" are being misconstrued to advance every political agenda from banning automatic-weapons and trench coats to abortion. Such logic defies common sense. Again, etiology traces directly to the lack of responsibility and blaming everything and everybody for your (editorial sense) own behavior. Welcome to the Jerry Springer Show and the, "if it feels good do it" culture.

IF you didn't have guns you wouldn't need to shoot someone to protect your family. You do need a gun! How else are you going to convince the reasonable person to leave. You don't have to shoot them, just point your gun at them and tell them to leave then they can come back when your not home. Instead of banning guns why not make it illegal for criminals to have them? Wait what if someone attacks you with a knife, a pipe... Washington DC doesn't have or allow guns all you gun haters feel free to move in!
