Reports meeting in Taiwan, at which dram makers there expressed resistance to the rambus drdram approach in favor of pc133 sdram , saying the cost difference was $300 per box, the pc133 solution is easier to implement, pc133 is ahead of drdram/camino in development, etc.

My reactions are that:
1. This is not really new news to the people here, since we know that the taiwan suppliers concentrate on the low end and are particularly cost conscious;
2. This does not affect the high end, where rambus's approach will first be installed anyway;
3. The pc133 approach still does not promise to approach the acceleration of the rambus approach; but
4. As camino continues to be delayed, the pc133 approach will get better and better, moving higher up the product lines for box makers and taking share away from rmbs.

We are still dependent on camino for our home run. But, I would also note that the non-box implementations (games, lsi logic, etc.) continue to grow, and are now no longer trivial. Thus, our floor in terms of revenues has gotten somewhat higher. At some point that may be enough to sustain price without reference to camino. Has anybody seen any estimates of non-camino revenue streams?
