The thing that struck me about your comment to Kerry was Since all the principals are dentists. Fwiw I consider that a bit of a red flag. I get involved with a number of private equity deals and one thing that always concerns me is when management are all 'technicians'. You need to see some actual trained businessmen. Otherwise you wind up with bad cost control etc. This caught my eye also, for a slightly different reason. I once had a computer lease with a company which had in turn sold it off to an investment group of --- dentists. At the end of the lease, the dentists decided in their infinite wisdom about finance and computer technology to sue me for "wearing out" the silicon in their computer (I am being only slightly sarcastic). Somehow they talked the finest law firm in their city (here I am not sarcastic at all) into taking this case (professional courtesy?). Needless to say, my shark whipped their collective asses. But it goes to show you the kind of idiotic decisions people can make when they are out of their depth. In the summary judgement I got against them (for which I had asked for expenses to defend against their ridiculous case), the judge said he sorely wished he could grant costs because it was the stupidest case he'd seen in a while, but unfortunately he had to acknowledge that under the applicable statute, it just barely flunked the total stupidity test.
