PC's are not cheaper to maintain. Give us some references to studies that show this.

I don't see that as an advantage. First, there is also an assortment of OS's (including Linux) that run on Sparcs; the notable exception is NT. More importantly, I think most people pick one OS and use it exclusively, so being theoretically able to run others isn't useful.
