Just curious if anybody finds this personnel move as odd as I do?

biz.yahoo.com

This guy has extensive training and experience in solid-state and process technology and was in charge of the 0.18um process. Now, just as this process is about to ramp at a very critical time, he moves over to the networking group where, IMO, process knowledge is very secondary to skills like DSP, analog/digital circuit design, etc.
From this angle, the report lends credence to the IBM rumors, especially if IBM takes the fab.

Darren - Re: " i was getting at is that if you want to try and compete with Intel and your existing lineup is garbage, then you will need to sit on the sidelines for a while and figure out your game plan..."

That's a good description of NSM and their present state of inaction.

Re: " I wouldn't be surprised if NSM makes the announcement the same
day. :)"

Why wouldn't you be surprised? NSM has made a string of product COMMENTS over the past 18 months and they have delivered SQUAT. Expect that to continue - it's the most logical conclusion.

Re: " Timna - Where can I find out more about this?"

Watch the Intel thread.

Re: "No, it doesn't but I'm long because I hope it will."

Hope may be all that you have.
