look at what the financial types have down to so many of the developing nations citizens..they probably had much better quality of life twenty five years ago..

Doubtful.

However, they certainly haven't seen the kind of progressive economic growth that they might have. But I hardly fault the money center banks and G-7 CB's for this as much as I fault the inherent corruption and cronyism of those nations that received the financial loans and assistance.

And many of those developing nations would not be developed at all had it not been for the eager exploration/exploitation of those nation's resources as Europe competed in its imperialistic ambitions (and not excluding any forays on the part of the US, mind you).

The problem is that we think economic progress will automatically bring legal and cultural progress. That's like putting the cart before the horse. You must have a foundation of law and property rights before a nation can truly progress economically. With a respect for law, you have a culture that permits opportunity and individual freedoms.
