Hi Musea Thanks for you thoughts!! They are always appreciated. I didn't realize that MS-Windows check the CPU type and then took advantage of the 'enhanced' features of each chip. Pretty Nifty!! I haven't done much OS level work on the PC's just on the mini's, which usually only have 1 type of chip. Perception is a big part of this game. The stock market and in computers hardware and software. There are so many better widgets out there that we never see because of a perception that everything needs to be microsoft or Intel etc. Dang, I really do miss my Wang Word processor!! <GGG> Actually I think having AMD and other chip makers on our heels is a good thing.
