Since rape-jokes seems to be the topic du jour, I guess I will weigh in. While I appreciate Marty's enthusiasm, I didn't appreciate the rape-reference, and I don't think that means that I am a humorless dolt, either. I'd be curious to know how many people would have thought it were funny if, instead of joking about raping their women, he would have written "lynched their blacks." I'd bet if folks are truly honest, the answer would be far fewer...

Rape jokes aren't funny, jokes about lynching blacks aren't funny, jokes about burning Jews aren't funny. If you want to explain to me, Harold, why some of the above are funny and why some aren't, then I'm all ears.

The only persons who are showing self-indulgence are those who feel rape is something to be used as a tool for any form of humor. You don't get it and you show how shallow a human can get by defending such a statement. I'm sure ANY FAMILY out there who has experienced a a loved-one sexually assaulted is just cracking up. Your statement is self-indulgent within itself. Maybe if your sister experienced such "humor" you'd think twice about it ASSHOLE, because mine did.

Harold,
"Same for the broad."????
What is it on this thread with derogatory terms and tasteless jokes? Women don't like to be called "broad"s, nor do I assume men like to be called pricks. There is a reason for politically correct language, and that is to raise the level of respect for humanity. We won't get there by dehumanizing each other in jokes or colloquialisms, now, will we? Nancy
