I once spent almost two months in Fiji.. talk about rules and regulations for a small country..they had US look like barbarians..

Then why aren't they a world power?? And don't say.. "because they don't have any natural resources", as neither does Japan.

I didn't get to spend any time in Fiji, but I spent a 1/2 year in the *sshole of the world, otherwise known as the Darien Province of Panama across the border from Colombia. Panamanian politicians have enjoyed unheard of opportunity and incredible access to capital due to the presence of the Canal and having a currency tied to the US dollar.

And they have consistently p*ssed that opportunity away. Certainly in the Darien, there was incredible graft and poverty. All perpetrated by the politicians, local and national.

So in sum, for every example where you provide a nation that makes the Americans look like Barbarians, I or someone else can likely provide an example where a nation's people and gov't ACT like Barbarians. (the Balkans immediately comes to mind)

Ron
