semi off-topic:

BLACK-SCHOLES recently posted on the BRCM string:
"Guys - great company. It really is. Its stock price is just ABSURDLY overvalued. Of course there's going to be competition. It's probably already arrived. Like FredE said, this is a total replay of C-Cube three years ago. Except now C-Cube is ABSURDLY undervalued. Hey, at least you can look forward to that day. Then you can pull your hair out waiting for it to be recognized again."

Black-Scholes: If you are going to use terms like "absurdly overvalued" or "absurdly undervalued" relative to any stock, you may want to spend a few minutes giving some support for your opinions. I don't know whether you are right or wrong (I suspect wrong as I am long BRCM), but I do know there are a number of serious investors out here who don't have time to spend listening to unsubstantiated rhetoric, good or bad. If you get a chance, I would like for you to spend a few minutes letting us all know why BRCM is "absurdly overvalued" and why BRCM has anything to do with C-Cube. It appears to me that if I followed your advice, I would have shorted BRCM and longed C-Cube. From the charts, it looks as though I would have lost a good bit of my savings!

Your message to DiViT:
I have been following this stock basically since the IPO. . . . This stock just fell out of favor. You're just too emotional about it. CUBE's technology IS real and in the lead.

Hah! Stop it, you're killing me. You obviously haven't been following this thread since the IPO . . .

For anyone to say that DiViT is too emotional about CUBE or that he has any doubt about CUBE's technology shows that they do not know who they are talking to. DiViT has been on top of, around, in, out, and sideways on CUBE for years. There probably isn't anyone outside the company itself who knows more about CUBE than DiViT does.

I think, however, that like myself, DiViT suffers from terminal blahs with respect to the stock price. I bought CUBE in 1997 for an average of $28, and have seen it exceed that price only twice since then, and only for a short period of time (Nov 98 and Jan 99). It's been a depressing two years waiting for this thing to take off. DiViT got his shares well before I bought in, so he's a definite veteran. FredE can speak for himself, but I think he was one of the folks who got in during the heydey of CUBE, when it touched 70. Both of them have been here for a while:

(note that FredE's is the #2 post of 40000 on this thread, and DiVIT's is #1141, posted the day after he arrived at SI. I found SI while looking for info on CUBE) If I were FredE I'd be a lot more cynical than I already am. We are all tired of seeing good announcements such as design wins, product branding, great earnings, etc., and having the stock just sit there. If we didn't believe in CUBE we would have left already, but we are still here. You have been here exactly one day, so don't make assumptions about us until you know the facts.

[EDIT - I just saw VINTHO's post: I still need about 16 more points to just get even!! Almost 5 years of this. Need I say more?]
